Whats the big deal about 7? Probably a good name for your kid, but beyond that?
(Maybe because 7 is the fiercest digit..... since 7 8 9. Get it? Heh.)
It beats me how are otherwise perfectly sensible and intelligent (?!) masses getting carried away by this whole idea, this new scam of voting for the "new" seven wonders of the world and not able to see through the biggest con-job on the planet that it is. I mean, do we really need a contest run by some eccentric Swiss guy, with no official endorsement, to tell us that these are "the" chosen ones? What about the countless others that didn't even make the final round of cutoffs? I have to grudgingly admit that this guy is one heck of a businessman though...what a perfect way to make money off gullible dimwits by getting in cahoots with a bunch of media/telecom/internet companies and collectively questioning their patriotism.
This is one of the few, sensible things I have read about it. As it rightly says, places like the Taj doesn’t really need any hyped up media campaign....people have always loved it and will continue to love it, despite such moronic contests.
(Now if you want to get really technical and crib about it...the Taj wasn't even on widely accepted original list of wonders drawn up by the ancient Greeks. But who can convince the legions of dumbasses out there? What it even more ironic is that the only "original" wonder...the Pyramids find no place in this new list).

Well, Shah Jahan was definitely some lover. He may have built an architectural wonder for the love of his life, but he certainly did not confine this passion to her alone.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shah_Jahan#Shah_Jahan.27s_promiscuity Makes you "wonder", doesn't it?
