Questions

(Taking the moral high ground here....the hypocrite that I am...but what the heck)
How does forwarding inane SMSes/emails (or doing borderline lunatic things like this) extolling many questionable facts about India, including claims (mostly unverified) that effectively say "everything came from India" (when will people accept the fact...you win some, you lose some) or praise the achievements of the diaspora (isn't that a bit ironic...you are trying to arouse patriotic sentiments by highlighting achievements of people who had to actually go to a different land to do what they wanted to), make you more patriotic than the next person?
Shouldn't you be rather doing something more proactive?
Spare me the insanity.....I plead guilty to being not patriotic if this is what it takes.
P.S. Happy Independence Day!

Googs, to me Independence Day is a time to reflect on the positive aspects of what freedom has brought. No doubt, there will always be problems. We spend a lot of time cribbing but we also need to set aside some time to feel pride for the positive aspects of nationhood.

Your birthday isn't the time to worry that you're overweight, haven't advanced in your career etc. It's a time to celebrate the goodness in you and remember the higher purpose for which you were born.. even if you ARE overweight, in a DOA career and broke. (not that you are.. just an example)Besides, there's enough time in the year to worry & work constructively on these problems.

That said, the ID hairdo is most bizzare. You certainly wouldn't be able to carry it off. ;)
